Transcript:Tips for Contouring Your Face Like Kim Kardashian
So, in this video I'm going to be showing you how to contour like Kim Kardashian. Get your cheekbones to look much more defined and let's just get right into it. Okay. So the first thing you're going to do is you want to find the right brush. A lot of the times what happens is people will take a blush brush like this and they'll think that's good for contouring. It is. It can be. But it can be a lot better if you smush it down like this so you get a little bit more control and that way you can really get in there and carve along the sides of your face with a powder. We're going to use powder for this. So swirl the powder that's a few shades darker than your skin tone. Tap off the excess, test on the back of your hand because you never want to look crazy, even though at first, when it comes to makeup, you'll always look crazy at first until you blend. But just get right in there. It's usually like right at the top of your ear going down, feel for it. You'll feel like there's a hollow space. That's exactly where you want to apply this. And it just gives you a much better point of definition here when you smush the brush like this. Now really get there and carve that out. You want to think like you're a sculptor. So see how this looks a little bit more sunken in than this. But you don't want to just have a line like that, you want to make it look like it kind of blends in with the rest of your face, so you want to bring it up this way, right up to your temples and blend. This is the part where you can let go of the brush and let it just do its thing and be fluffy, just to kind of diffuse things. And if you ever go a little bit too harsh with this line, let go of the brush, do some circular motions, let it buff out, grab your trusty sponge, do some pouncing here and there. You can even grab your translucent powder, pat it over that. That will help to tone things down in case you get carried away, but you can see it's a lot better than what it was before. It's a lot more defined, bringing it down. So you're kind of creating a little bit like a three shape. This way and then down that way along the jaw. Bring it down onto the neck. You want everything to kind of blend into each. You want things to make sense. You don't want it to look like you've been drawing on your face. We're going to the same thing to the other side now. Now if you really want to make this stand out more, this is fine. I think this is fine for like an everyday kind of thing, but I am showing you in a lot of these videos how to take a little bit to the next level. What you're going to do is you're going to take a smaller brush, you can even use an eye shadow brush to be honest, I'm going to take a smaller brush, I'm going to dip into this powder that's a bit lighter than my skin tone. You can even use an eye shadow. It doesn't matter. Powder is powder, for the most part. Just going to go right under there. Just going to really accentuate that sunken-in look that we created. It's going to help to clean up the lines, clean the edges a bit, make things a little bit more defined, create some contrast at the top of the cheekbone just to make that look like it's coming out more. When you're using darker shades you're making things look like they're sunken in and then when you're using lighter shades you're making things look like they're coming out and catching the light. So that's that. Really simple.
